The Start of Something Great

There was a brief period of time when my husband was going above and beyond what was expected of him in the finance department. Let’s just say there definitely was an ulterior motive. Allllll that extra cash was being set aside for a project car, a 1966 Chevy Chevelle. Apparently, he has wanted this car since he was about fourteen years old when a neighbor introduced him to the world of classic cars. Little did we know the adventures this would take us on.

He originally bought the shell of a 1966 Chevelle with the purpose of starting from scratch. He held on to that for a while, taking up all the space in our garage. Needless to say, that shell sat there collecting dust due to the amount of money it required and the extreme attention it needed.

A few months in he found another 1966 Chevelle, in running condition. He traded in the rust-bucket for one that had a motor and was street worthy.

The new lady in his life started out as a Wonderful shade of forest green. The gages were all original and of course not functioning. The interior was decent with little rust and no holes. Best of all, the engine worked. I was just happy that He was happy about getting the car of his dreams.

My husband spent hours looking for the perfect Doctor to get his lady a full facelift. He finally settled on a fine Doctor just south of us who was willing to take on the challenge. After an emotional farewell to his beloved Chevelle, he handed the keys over to the newly entrusted miracle worker and patiently waited for his improved and restored Chevelle.

He spent several months and an undisclosed amount of money getting his princess all dolled up and ready for new awaiting adventures. And so it begins, Car shows and car cruises galore.@66_dipn
